International Aviation Academy

We were engaged by RG Carter many years ago to carry out a major refurbishment package at the International Aviation Academy, a pre-WWII building located beside Norwich City Airport. The project required a careful and controlled approach due to the age of the structure and the presence of existing lead-based coatings across all the internal structural steelwork.

Our team undertook the full removal of these coatings, working within strict safety and containment procedures to ensure full compliance throughout. Once the steelwork was completely stripped and prepared, we applied a single coat of primer across the entire framework, followed by a modern Sherwin-Williams industrial finish coat designed to provide long-term protection and a clean, uniform appearance.

The project ran for approximately six months. The completed works left the steelwork fully protected, visually refreshed, and ready for its continued use as part of the academy’s training facilities.

Delivered for RG Carter, it remains an excellent example of our capability in hazardous coatings removal and the refurbishment of heritage structures.
