Intumescent Application at Digitech

Back in 2021, we completed another great project with RG Carter, applying the intumescent top coat to the new steel structure: Digitech: part of a new building development at City College, Norwich.

We focused on the paint application – the crucial finishing stage that provides both fire protection and a high-quality aesthetic finish. The finish was applied to meet the project’s fire safety specifications and achieve a consistent, durable look throughout.

Inside the building, you can see the extent of the structure and the clean, uniform coating our team achieved during application. Working across multiple levels, we ensured all steelwork was covered to the agreed finish.

These close-ups show the quality of the completed finish: smooth, even, and expertly applied. 

Here’s one of our team using airless spray equipment. This is the preferred method for achieving a consistent, professional result on large scale steelwork. 

From the outside, the project really comes together. The completed coating work forms a key part of the structure’s final visual impact.
