“Over the past few years EPR have utilised the services of VariBlast Ltd during major plant shutdowns. This has predominantly required VariBlast to work within confined spaces. Their teams successfully completed the EPR induction process and for the team supervisor, the Nominated Competent Persons training. This then allowed them to carry out the required tasks working under the EPR Safe System of Work (SSW).

“The work involved the preparation of boiler tubes for the application of protective coatings. Their work always met the required standards to allow the coating process to continue without delay. During the periods of shot blasting, routine safety audits were carried out on the VariBlast teams and no incidents of any infringements of the EPR SSW were reported.”
