Paint removal within a large building
VariBlast were awarded the contract on behalf of Restore London Ltd working on a McLaren project to supply surface cleaning and lead paint removal services at Herbal House in central London.
The structure consisted of several different types of materials ranging from concrete, brick, glazed tile and steel, which were on a number of different internal wall, soffit and column elevations.
The cleaning of these various surfaces required the use of multiple cleaning techniques including hot water jet-washing, high pressure wet-blasting and dry blasting to achieve the required results. Steel items in the building were also specified to be cleaned to Sa2.5 standard.
