QinetiQ Test Rails

Variblast was awarded a contract by QinetiQ to refurbish the steel rails, steel sleepers and concrete plinth on the 1,500lm test and evaluation track at the ‘MOD Pendine Firing Range’ facility in Wales.

All steel surfaces were dry blast cleaned to Sa2.5 (white steel) surface preparation standard. The cleaned rails were then coated in a two-coat water based ‘Neutrarust’ paint system and the steel sleepers coated with an ‘International Paints’ paint system as per the specification.

All measured concrete plinth areas (3,000m²), were washed and coated in two coat Dulux weather shield paint system.
