Vacuum Blasting in progress
Some time ago, we completed a specialist internal steel preparation project for Morgan Sindall at Morley College, where we were appointed to remove existing lead-based coatings from internal steelwork within a fully occupied building. Delivering works in a live environment required close coordination with the site team.

Due to the presence of lead paint, careful consideration was given to the most appropriate removal method. We utilised vacuum blasting to provide a controlled and fully contained process. This system allows the blast media and debris to be recovered at source, significantly reducing dust and preventing the spread of hazardous materials beyond the immediate work area. The approach ensured compliance with current health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and controlled environment throughout the project.
Our team worked methodically and efficiently, minimising disruption while achieving the required surface preparation standard.
The internal steelwork was successfully stripped back to a clean, sound condition, ready for the next phase of treatment and re-coating. By selecting vacuum blasting, we were able to deliver a safe, compliant and efficient solution tailored to the constraints of a live building environment.
