Selfridge’s Link Bridge
Renewing Tired Paintwork
As part of the Iconic Bullring shopping Centre, Selfridge’s has a presence within central Birmingham. Linking the multi-storey carpark to the store this link bridge is suspended over one of the main city centre routes for traffic.
The works would then be less disruptive if carried out at night especially as traffic control was required to allow the 40m access equipment into the working area. This project was carried out over 7 weeks through July, August and September of 2019 to refresh the paint work and give this daily viewed Iconic bridge a new lease of life.
The previous coating was prepared using Power Tools to give the Sherwin-Williams Paint system the required surface to give a long Life To First Maintenance. Where the previous coating had failed completely the local area was ground back to bare metal. Some areas were also filled to give the under side of the bridge a smooth complexion.
With the skill of the Sherwin-Williams colour matching system we were able to renew the bespoke colour of this bridge which should last for many years to come.
